eeeStephenArrowsmith(PaulMuller),ascientistexperimentingwiththepossibilityofregeneratingbloodthroughelectricityhashishomeandlaboratoryinthecastleownedbyhiswifeMuriel(BarbaraSteele).ArrowsmithfindsherlaterhavingsexwithagardeneranddisfigureshimwithahotpokerandburnsMuriel'sfacewithacidbeforeelectrocutingbothofthem.ArrowsmithhidestheirheartsinanurnandthenusestheirbloodtorejuvenatetheagedservantSolange(HelgaLiné).
